If we had to pick the most impossible question in the whole world, “What’s your favorite spot you’ve visited?” would be up there. Saying one city, one country, even one continent is just a lie. Each place we are lucky enough to visit is special in it’s own right, and obviously shines in it’s own way. When people ask us our favorite, we ask “wait, do you mean city, food, culture, weather, nightlife, experiences?” and even then we rattle off five or six for each category. The world is simply too cool to have a favorite. That being said, certain places have stood out to us for different reasons.
Most affordable: Vietnam
Vietnam is like that deal that you see at the store that is simply too good to be true, making it the ultimate budget-friendly destination. From mouth watering street food that costs less than your morning latte to experiences that feel like a steal, Vietnam has a knack for making your wallet feel like it's on a never-ending vacation. The food, culture, and adventures feel out of this world, and you will definitely feel the shock of being so affordable.
Most vibrant city and culture: Cartagena, Colombia
Cartagena is quite literally the definition of a rainbow city. It feels magical just being there. You know that feeling when you’re traveling and you find a super cute street that feels extra beautiful and colorful? That’s how the entire city of Cartagena feels to us. The people are warm, friendly and fun, and the city transforms from day to night in the most gorgeous and vibrant way.
Best food: Peru
Again, biased here, but Peru’s food is truly out of this world. Because of the various different climates, the culinary options truly never end. From mouthwatering ceviche to delicious lomo saltado, anyone and everyone can find food they love in Peru.
Best experiences: Thailand
Describing Thailand as an adult theme park that checks off the majority of your bucket list seems like a pretty good way to talk about the endless experiences you can bank here. Whether you’re taking a boat trip from the coast of a ton of different cities within the country, ziplining the jungle, eating your way through the night markets, getting a famous fish pedicure, exploring temples, attending a spectacular drag show, admiring elephants or simply just taking tuk tuks around to your next spot, you’ll make memories here that will last a lifetime.
Best nightlight: Budapest
Budapest’s nightlife is honestly unreal. From sipping cocktails in a natural hot spring in the midst of a huge foam party at midnight, to jumping from ruins bar to ruins bar all night until you can see the sun, to taking party boats down the river, it's quite literally a never ending party.
Best Natural Beauty: Philippines
From oceans to lagoons to islands to lakes to rainforests, this insanely beautiful country has the most jaw-dropping beauty we’ve only seen in postcards. The clearest and most blue water in the world and the friendliest and most welcoming people will make you never want to leave.
